f4af820a087d2ec0aaaca2a616513638 The capital of Sarawak is Kuching, meaning "cat" in translation. It’s a quiet provincial town 32 kilometers from the sea. We recommend you making a stop in this place. There is just so much to see in Kuching surroundings: rehabilitation center of orangutans, picturesque villages of the tribes of Borneo, workshops, woodwork, pottery shop and, of course, Bako National Park where you can come across many species of endemic plants and animals that can be found only on Borneo. In the city there are also quite a few places to visit: old fort, museums, antique shops, the promenade by the river with restaurants and bars, endless streets with souvenir shops and the palace of the Sultan which stands on a picturesque river used as defile stage for the colorful water taxis. Kuching is reachable by a short flight from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and few other major cities of South East Asia.

Morning in Sarawak begins with a melody sang by the jungle. Each hectare of ancient forest is filled with such endemic species of flora and fauna that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. These jungle is one of the wildest and unspoiled places on Earth. A huge variety of monkeys, reptiles, squirrels and other animals inhabit this place. Here you can meet a dwarf owl height of 15 cm, butterflies with a wingspan of 20 cm, orangutans - large and very smart monkeys with kind eyes and of course, small and playful long tail macaques. The territory of Sarawak is relatively large and some areas are completely impassable and getting there is only possible by helicopter. As for some tribes living in the jungle, they came into contact with visitors only a few years ago! They will welcome you into their homes and treat you with rice wine, show their homes and tools and maybe even teach you the secrets of hunting with blow pipe.
